John Williams from has the real stats out.

Here is the summary, you pay for the detail (well worth the price):

– For Second Month, Household-Survey Employment Fell as Payroll Growth Faltered
April Unemployment: 8.1% (U.3), 14.5% (U.6), 22.3% (SGS)
– Annual M3 Growth Weakened in April as Velocity Rose
– New Indicator Shows Intensifying Systemic Stress
– Impaired Construction Spending Continued

Click here for Rick Santelli as he explains the unemployment hide-and-seek numbers on CNBC. (Classic!! 10 min) He naively asks government for solutions. He is so cute. But he really doesn’t expect any solutions before November.

  1. Thank Christ for Santelli and the VERY occasional (now) Schiff, Rickards, and Whalen appearances or CNBC would be no different than a Songebob episode.

  2. Jeffhalmos,

Agreed. Except for a few spots, CNBC is worthless. Good for a chuckle, but sad and worthless.
