International House

Filed under: Odds 'n ends — totallygroovygirlfriday @ 1:41 am

Here is a montage of 10-plus minutes of a wonderful movie called International House from 1933. The movie takes place in Woho, China, a fictional city in China where a major business negotiation over the purchase of a new Chinese invention (that looks suspiciously like a combination of Skype and NetFlex) is taking place at the International House Hotel. This is a pre-code film with W. C. Fields, Burns and Allen, and Peggy Hopkins Joyce (the Paris Hilton of the 1930’s). This movie also features great New York nightclub and radio stars like Cab Calloway and Baby Rose Marie, but not in this clip.
