Update on Delphi Pensions

Filed under: 401K and IRAs, Bailout Nation, Odds 'n ends — totallygroovygirlfriday @ 4:21 pm

Click here for a very interesting article about the email discussion to terminate 20,000 Delphi employee pensions in the GM bailout.

gg says: pensions are first, 401ks come next, social security will be the last program to get rid of. All retirement programs will be reduced before they are terminated. Any crisis will be used for Big Banks, government, other large companies, and creditors to confiscate your retirement benefits.

Less and then no retirement system (private or public) is part of the paradigm shift gg is always talking about. This process will play out over the next 5-20 years. So, if you are older, you have less to worry about. If you are young, make other retirement arrangements. If you are somewhere in the middle, take action immediately.

The Drought

Filed under: Odds 'n ends — totallygroovygirlfriday @ 1:30 am

Groovygirl thought this was kind of interesting. Joe Bastardi says we are in a drought/hot cycle similar to the 1950’s. Click here.

This cycle is also known for east coast hurricanes.

In  2006 , I loudly proclaimed on national outlets that we were going back to the  1950s  as far as the climate pattern went  and that  the patterns of the  50s which opened the east coast up for hurricanes, as well as  hot, droughty  look,  for the southern US  would take over. The reason was simple,  we were in a cycle roughly like the  period when the PDO and AMO warmed and a flip to the cold PDO was on the way.
