Dow-Gold Ratio

Filed under: DOW and S&P500, Gold and Silver Investing — totallygroovygirlfriday @ 1:43 am

Click here for the latest Dow-gold chart. We are still in the downtrend that started in 2000, but it seems we have broken the latest resistance line. We shall see if this is a new trend line that is stabilized for a while or just a bump on the way down.

  1. Hi gg-

Somewhere in your posts you have said something to the effect of ” if you have money tied up in 401ks, etc., make sure you get and hold the stock certificates in your possession “. I have a good bit of shares in PHYS, etc. Could you elaborate on this? Maybe I heard it elsewhere. Thanks a ton.

  2. GG,

Armstong has provided some of his clearest guidance yet regarding the DOW in his latest blog …

“We have been warning that the Sovereign Debt Crisis would begin in Europe, then spread to Japan, and only then at the end of everything will we see it hit the USA come 2016. So for the dollar bears and Dow bears, they will be consistently wrong for they never look at the world – only 1929 scenarios domestically. We will look at the debt levels and the capital flows at the upcoming Sovereign Debt Crisis Conference on March 16th in Philadelphia.”

So … I’m understanding that we SHOULD move back in to the DOW and ride it until late 2015 then get out. That’s what I’m reading.

  3. That is not what gg is doing. The long term dow-gold chart is still in a long-term downtrend. gg has a few stocks, but very few. Less than 5% of her net worth.

  4. Some 401ks will let you get the certificates of the stock you hold. Most do not. If you can get them, do it. It helps eliminate the number of entities standing between you and your money if something should happen to your 401k holding company, their broker, their broker’s broker, you have something other than an electronic message.
