Just a little comment…

groovygirl is just amazed at the rare events happening lately. Makes one really think long cycles are alive and well. The latest: the Pope’s resignation.

Last time this happened (1415 AD) it was because of a political split in the Catholic Church left over from issues resulting from the fall of the Roman Empire. It was a political split that threatened to take down the global power of the Church at that time. Although gg can only guess at the real reason for the Pope’s leaving, it is a highly unusual event and should be looked at as a turning point of some kind.

  1. I’ve oftened wondered if there were “religious” cycles in the world as well. I wouldn’t doubt it. I am considering asking Martin Armstrong about it when I see him in March.

On another note. I was listening to talk radio this morning and a priest who is on the Catholic channel was on. He said that the pope said a few years ago that he didn’t want to end up like pope john paul where he was mentally and physically unable to perform his duties and would consider resigning if it came down to that. I think that is what happened here. That being said, 600 years since the last time it happened is quite interesting.
